Accounting Partner FAQs
Do we partner with Accounting firms?
Akamai is a bookkeeping firm trusted by Accountants serving Veterinarians. Our services organize and streamline client books so that it makes your job as their Accountant a lot easier. We do the accounting from beginning to end, so the financial reports are ready at tax time. CPAs and EAs love our work and have very few adjustments to make for tax preparation each year. Our services include:
Updated bookkeeping every month like clockwork
Starting QuickBooks Online from scratch
Bank reconciliations and adding all transactions
Credit card reconciliations and adding all transactions
Reconciling loan balances, interest, and payments
Reconciling payroll into veterinary departments
Monthly financial reports online
Practice overhead comparison to peers
We do not write checks, pay bills, or run payroll. That's often done within the practice by the owner, spouse or office manager. Our service is purely record keeping of financial activity designed special for veterinary practices.
What accounting experience does our team have?
All of our bookkeepers are actually degreed Accountants. They have a four-year bachelor's degree in accounting and must have at least five years of experience as a Staff Accountant working inside a CPA firm before joining our team.
Why do Accountants partner with us?
Our meticulous attention to detail, prompt responsiveness, and deep expertise in the veterinary industry enable us to deliver outstanding bookkeeping services tailored to their clients’ needs. By providing accurate and reliable financials, we significantly reduce the time CPAs spend correcting accounting records, allowing their teams to focus on what they do best
What accounting methods do we use?
We use veterinary-specific chart of accounts (AAHA) and accrual accounting — It’s the best way to benchmark across the industry and create a 1:1 relationship between the practice’s revenue and direct costs. It also identifies profitability for specific products and services. It will not change how your accountant files your taxes.
Are clients locked into a contract?
No - Our services are billed monthly and there are no minimum commitments or penalties for canceling.
